I found this at Simply Shannon, but it originally came from Rocks In My Dryer. So after you finish reading this, head over there and join in the fun. Happy Labor Day, Moms!
How long were your labors?
Aves- 40+ hours
McClaine- 3 hours
Audrey- Oh my, I should have wrote this down... I think I went in for induction at midnight, started labor at 7am and she was born around 4? Oh, that is so sad that I can't remember... Let's say about 8 hours...
How did you know you were in labor?
Aves- minor contractions, 10 minutes apart starting Tuesday night and progressing for the whole sleepless week. She was born Saturday afternoon after over 40 hours of hard labor.
McClaine- induced
Audrey- induced
Where did you deliver?
Aves- Bryan, TX
McClaine- Vail, CO
Audrey- South TX
Drugs?
Aves- I really wanted to do it naturally... but after no sleep for a week and 40 hours of hard labor, my body was fighting the contractions and I wasn't progressing. So I got an epidural, took a three hour nap and they woke me to tell me I was fully effaced and fully dialated. She was out in ten minutes.
McClaine- heck yes, I now knew the wonder of the epidural
Audrey-oh yeah, after waiting in line behind ten other laboring moms for the anesthesiologist to show up, I was already dialated to an 8, but with no down time in between contractions, I wanted that epidural.
C-Section?
nope
Who delivered?
Awesome doctors, all different. And for McClaine, our doctor allowed Caleb to deliver after his head was out, Caleb went through the cardinal positions and caught that sweet boy! His gender was a surprise and Caleb was sooooo excited he got a boy!

Gosh, I forgot how long you were in labor with Avery. I had NO IDEA at the time what that was like. I do now, and I salute you!
I'm so bad on this stuff--I forget weights, birthdays, everything :0
Here's to labor #4! :) And, more importantly, the precious baby that is on his/her way. I'm so happy for you!
Oh how this brought back memories... I still grimace when I remember just watching you be in labor with Avery...
Thanks for the linkage. :)
I love reading everyone's stories.
