Yesterday was my best friend's birthday. Caleb really is wonderful and he really is my very best friend. We had a lovely dinner with friends last weekend and we went around the table and shared what we loved about Caleb. I could tell he was a little embarrased and I just froze up when it was my turn. The only thing I said was that I loved when he took over the kids when he got home. Although I REALLY appreciate that about him, there are countless other things.
I am so grateful to be married to a Godly man who desires to honor the Lord and his family. I love hanging out with him, there really is no one I would rather spend time with. I love his communication skills- he is top notch at hearing me and talking with me. I love his sense of humor. I love his positive outlook- really it is his faith that the Lord is good and desires his children to experience the true joy of abiding in Him. I love his laid-back and calm demeanor. I love his joy. I love his newly acquired cooking skills. I love that he leads me and serves me. I love his manliness. I love that he can fix anything. I love his heart for the nations and people. I love that I can take him anywhere and he can get along with anyone. I love that he is patient- especially with my mood swings. I could go on forever- glad I will be married to him for that long!
Caleb is also spoiled. His mom would make him a fabulous German Chocolate Cake for his birthday, so to continue his mom's wonderful spirit of service, I have continued the tradition. Here is a picture of the recipe card. Notice the LIE at the top: "Prep: 30 minutes" LIAR!!! It takes me nearly 30 minutes to separate all the eggs this recipe calls for.
Three hours later! Viola
Caleb's mom made the coolest birthday card for Caleb. She is super creative and made this boot card from cool quilting fabric and sheet music. Honestly- is it the coolest?
If you are wondering why boots, check out Caleb's occupation by clicking on the picture below:
Here is a video of the kids singing Happy Birthday. Notice the "hot air" McClaine has. He really loves blowing out candles!
