Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments?

I really like this idea, little fragments that run through my mind... and now a place to put them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Audrey is really movin'. She will go from laying down, on her back, to sitting up, to knees and hands. My favorite new pose that she is doing is the downward facing dog (yoga baby!). She is also pulling up on furniture. And she babbles, all the time.
I got a great idea from Jen, at Cheaper than Therapy, and started a new dictionary for translating all things McClaine. He is into full sentence mode, Caleb and I are usually the only ones that can understand him (although Avery does a good job attempting to translate).
"whe duh ose? Heir ooo ah!" Where's the horse? Here you are! I will add a dictionary link soon so you can learn more awesome phrases.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am loving the new schedule that we are on! Caleb is blessing me, big time by taking Avery to school on his way to work. And since the little ones sleep until 8:30-9:00, that gives me time to drink two cups of coffee, have some time reading my Bible and fold a load of laundry.

I had big plans to sleep in last Friday, since Caleb also got Avery dressed and fed. However, McClaine and Audrey found this completely inappropriate, so they woke at 6:30 am. Love it! Plus, I was out of creamer, and I don't do non-yummy coffee.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Avery is really enjoying school. She informs me that while all of the other children need a nap, she doesn't, so she just sits on her mat and watches them . "Don't worry, mom, I don't 'sturb them."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This has been a tremendously difficult time for so many that we love. One of my friends lost her mom. Another friend lost her dad. My sister-in-law lost her unborn babe. Other friends are faced with difficult decisions about the daughter they are pregnant with. My friend, Erin, has two young sons, and her husband has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, which is reoccuring, so may be cancerous. In this season, I am reminded of how easy our family has it... and how very little I have to complain about. I am in constant prayer for these dear friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caleb is still crying about the Aggie's sad, sad loss to Arkansas State. Who? Yes, that is right. So embarrassing. Or as CBS said it, "Texas A&M Aggies suffer embarrassing loss at home in Sherman's debut."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Though I am loving our new puppy, Latte, who is a wonderful dog... I am also so over her whining (whining is not allowed, it makes me crazy). She is a people-pup. She is constantly wanting to be in our presence. She is an outside dog (well, I spoil her and let her in our a/c blessed garage in the afternoon), it is still a million degrees down here, and I am just not into sweatin' and 'squitos. So keep on whining. But how sweet are these pictures?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Washing bottles, buying formula, the smell of formula spit up, the fact that the main ingredient in the can of formula I currently have is 42.6% corn syrup solids, missing sweet bonding time with my daughter. Reasons I am sad that I had to wean Audrey last week.
Putting away very unattractive and lame nursing bras (for six more months at least). Reason I am okay with weaning Audrey.
I guess being three months pregnant and taking care of a three year old, a two year old, a nine month old, a dog, a hermit crab (very high maintainance), a house and a husband is not helping my milk production.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am pretty sure that 90% of my readers do not want to hear about nursing and weaning. But I am reminding myself that this blog is my virtual scrapbook, and these are the things I don't want to forget when I am a grandma and bonding with my grandbaby's and daughters and daughter-in-laws.

Did you say your little ones sleep until 8:30 or 9? SO jealous!
The Mommy biscotti was funny.
Your dog is cute, but I totally know what you mean about not needing another thing to take care of and hear whining from.

Oh, wow, have you got your hands full. You are so wise to be aware of and grateful for your blessings!

My heart goes out to your friends; wow. I loved this post; it took me back to the baby days (which I do not miss at all, BTW) Love your attitude :) Thanks for playing! :)

Love the FF idea!

We have Labs too, and those dogs just always want to be underfoot. GOod for you on making her an outdoor dog, although she is so so cute! :)

How adorable is Latte? But I find the whining of two kids hard enough to cope with.

Really lovely post. Super idea.

So glad for the time alone for you!! How wonderful! Sweet Audrey is getting so big. The last time I saw her she was still in the unawake- stage and she had a cold.

I do "fragmented" posts all the time but rarely on a Friday... ; )

I didn't know you were pregnant! Congratulations! But, WOW! How do you do it girl?

Prayers for your friends and family that are having a rough go of it right now. It's a good reminder how blessed we are...

Hi!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Really enjoyed your Friday Fragments... Great idea. Very cute pix of the dog and your kiddos! Oh, and I totally agree with you on the coffee- no creamer, no way!

I think I might hop on the Friday Fragments bandwagon- too cool!

Did you say 42.6%?! That is insane! I can't believe they can get away with putting that in FORMULA! Is there another brand you can use? The body reads corn syrup in a completely different way than sugars, and I'm just shocked they put it in formula. Wow. Okay, picking my jaw up off the floor!

I did not know that formula was made up of that much corn syrup. Totally agree about the nursing bras being lame. Someone really needs to come up with something more attractive on that front. Cracked up about the high maintenance hermit crab. My kids almost tricked me into buying one this year but I somehow managed to get out of it. Love Friday Fragments!

Absolutely loved this post!! I can totally relate in so many ways, especially about weaning... Meadow is 10 months and I am going to slowly begin the process to have her weaned by a year. Oh I am right there with you: no creamer = unhappy mommy in the morning.
