Just the Facts of Life

The creative juices. I found them. They were in a moldy sippy cup crammed under a car seat in my mini-van. The mini-van that I was feverishly cleaning this weekend to prepare for a fourth car seat.

I don't know why I feel so compelled to be creative in my posts, I started this blog to keep up with all the happenings in our family's life. And now my moldy sippy cup juices have squelched my documentation, so...it will be much easier to report the Facts of Life- Blair, Tootie and Jo style. So take the good, take the bad, take 'em all and there you have....

-McClaine will not be potty trained by the time baby four gets here... so we will have three children in diapers, except on nekie days. What is the deal with potty training little boys anyway? He is totally into peeing in the backyard and in the toilet, but he waits until he is clothed to poop. Gross. If you had your choice, wouldn't you rather pee in your clothes and poop in the toilet?

-He is saying really funny stuff like, "i'nt dat cool, mom?" "high five, mom!" and adding "kinda" to everything. "Kinda scary, kinda hungry, kinda fun, kinda fast."

-I proved my dedication to motherhood by teaching Avery baby sign language, however, I lost my zeal with McClaine and Audrey. That is until Audrey learned how to get under my skin with the most vociferous grunts for more food. She packs it away, she always has, but now that she is in a full force run to keep up with her siblings, her diet rivals that of a full grown man. This week she learned the signs for more, please, thirsty, thank you and finished.

-Audrey is also talking much more... cracker, thank you, night night, Dora. She loves to sing and dance and she really loves her babies and pushing them in a stroller. Good thing, I will have her pushing this new babe in a matter of days. Really, it is crazy to me that she is going to be a big sister.

-Speaking of new babe... even though my due date isn't until 3/9, it seems that I am progressing just a wee bit (I am dilated to a 2 and have had pretty good contractions for the past few days). I am in a bit of a decision dilemma... since the baby is measuring kind of small, I would rather go the full 40 weeks, if I can. However, my platelets are at 92k and if they drop below 75k... no epidural. And for all of you who say this fourth one will just slip out- you are delirious! I have super cervix. If you feel so compelled to coach me through labor, don't get within an arms reach of my labor bed if you value your limbs. My ob wants to induce a week from today, so we will see. The gender jar remains sealed on my kitchen counter and we still don't have names picked out!

-I was forced to "nest" this weekend when our realtor called and said they had two showings on our house scheduled. Within a matter of hours. While I was at a birthday party with Avery. Across town. And Caleb was laid up on the couch.

-I am cherishing time with my little four year old. Avery is such a sweetheart, and I want to be sure not to force her to grow up too fast, even though she will be a big sister x 3 in a week or so. My heart rejoices when she "reads" her Bible verses from her Bible to me. "In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth. John A:26" "Let the whole world rejoice with sharing, if you share and be kind, you will get a special prize from your teacher. Genesis" and other jewels from the New Avery Version.

Who knows when you will get another post from this mama... I am on the brink of a whole new chapter of life. Love to all of you!

Don't get me started on potty training - my oldest was a complete stinker about it - literally! ; )

Prayers for you as you make the decision about the baby - I'm sure everything will work out fine. Can't wait to hear the big news!!

Tyne, I always love reading your posts! Good luck with Baby #4 and keep us all posted when you find the time (like that is possible with 4 kids! I barely keep up with 2!). Anyway, sending prayers and love your way!!

Hey Tyner you rock, keep it up. You are heading down the last stretch before el numero quattro. I'll call ya soon to catch up. Try and hold out for the original due date, that will be much cooler if you do.

Oh Tyne, I aspire to be a mother like you someday! I love reading about your adventures, and I know if any mom can handle four under four, it's you!

You're totally right about SJP! I had no idea she was so voluptuous! It was a bit much, really. Angelina certainly did have great jewels on, though.

I'm sorry for borrowing Avery's line-I hope I credited her appropriately!

I'll be thinking of you and praying for you over the next few weeks. Can't wait to hear about quatro!

I love the humor you incorporate in your posts - without even trying - I mean, seriously, who didn't love "The Facts of Life," growing up. Anyhow, I hope Casa Blanca remains the same even with baby four - remember, I'm here if you need ANYTHING.
Love ya, Del

I'm praying for your platelets. Mine went up both times, and so will yours (and mine had to be above 100!)

And, the poop thing...don't get me started. We've got the same problem!! Good luck and if you figure it out, please let me know.

sooo many adorable and wonderful things happening in your life...i'm with you on going to 40 wks...i really wanted to also for a variety of reasons. BUT...b/c my baby was small they had to take her early so she could get "fattened" up...my placenta was teeny-tiny and not giving her enough...so going early does have it's advantages for the baby...though I loved being pregnant so much i really didn't want it to end at 38. :)

potty training is in our near future...maybe. i am not that excited about the starting but tulip is sooooo interested!

CAN'T WAIT to find out if you're having a boy or girl!!!!!!

Hey Tyne, Very exciting that you'll get to meet the newest one soon! We'll be praying for you all! I vote for the 5th as that day has serve me well for nearly 35 years! And names, well you've done a great job so far, I am sure he/she will come home with the perfect name! Or not, my aunt and uncle waited 2 weeks before they named their 9th child. I am guessing you are more on the ball than that:)

Tyne, wow. Your life seems like a television reality program and not at all like someone I actually KNOW with all the ridiculous and extreme goings-ons. You're amazing and I love hearing about your mommy adventures.
