Ladies, This is the final rose

Avery and I had a sweet conversation tonight about how she is growing up, and how she used to be like Audrey and stick gross stuff in her mouth. She has made a new vow to never eat her boogers anymore. That is so, so sweet.

I went to Dallas this weekend to finish my training for my new job that I am so excited about. I see the Lord's providence and blessings all over it. More to come. Caleb sent me text messages with pictures from time to time. Mostly of him, holding three energetic children, exclaiming, "I am in a mess, when are you coming home?" But really, there is nothing better than coming home to the ones you love. I had new eyes for all of them. McClaine's Die Hard tenacity, Audrey's wonderous enthusiasm, and Avery's new maturity.

Back to my conversation with Avery... I asked her when did she grow up and get so big, I pleaded with her to stay just as she is. She said, "no mom, I am excited to grow up and be a great woman." How cute is that out of a four year old mouth? Then she went on to say that she was going to be a good wife and a good mommy. And I would be a grandma.

Confession, I watch The Bachelor... totally trashy, but I think it is so funny when Chris comes out and says, "Ladies, this is the final rose." God forbid, my daughter ever hear that phrase except from a television. In other words, I am treasuring each moment of my children's lives, enjoying them grow, looking forward to them becoming wives and husbands and even me being a grandma. But I never want one of my children to be subjected to The Bachelor.

I think it is so silly how Chris has to mention that it is the final rose when it is so obvious...totally urks me.

Of COURSE I couldn't miss the hometown visits-I watched that thing as soon as I got home! I found Naomi's to be physically painful, and I actually give Jason lots of credit just for getting through it! Avery is SO sweet, just like her mom! Very impressive about the new job-it is amazing that you handle everything with such grace and aplomb!

Yes, I want more about the new job. How exciting.

And Avert, she always seems to be sweet, but this post makes her sound just extraordinarily so.

Tyne, I, too, am a closet Bachelor fan. Not sure why...it is a terrible addiction :-).

Avery is truly SO sweet! It's kinda like she's an "old soul" isn't it?

New Job, Dallas? Darn, I live near there. If you come back let me know!

Hey...maybe it's me, but your text and background are the same color. I have to highlight the text to be able to read it.

But, a new job..how exciting.
