Symphonic

I don't know if "symphonic," is a word, nor do I have the gusto to go look it up on dictionary.com, but that is exactly how I would describe today. Even though Reece and I have colds and are struggling to get more than a couple hours of sleep in at night, the day just seemed right, well-orchestrated.

Coming off of a picture perfect four day weekend, I felt refreshed and blessed as I started the day. I didn't even get grumpy as McClaine yelled, "Mommy, mommmmmy," and woke up Audrey and interrupted a sleepy nursing session with birthday girl.

Look at this little trouble-maker... he loves chocolate and is always sneaking it.
Reece is six weeks today, she has gorgeous deep blue eyes that are staying open long enough to gaze at the wonders around her, and you will catch the occasional smile- which is genuine, not just gas. Her sweet complexion is even beginning to clear, and I can't help but wonder if the blemishes have lingered just a little longer because she is our forth and doesn't quite get the spa treatment that Avery got (a bath every other day, followed by lotion and relaxing massage to prepare her for a restful night of BabyWise).

I have resolved to spend more time on their level, to really be an active participant in their little lives. To enjoy a spot of tea with Audrey, to snuggle with Reece when she wouldn't mind the swing, to pitch the ball to McClaine and ram cars with him, to build tall towers. Cramming my feet into Avery's dress-up heels and dancing around the playroom is a privilege. Finger painting and hop-scotching are blessings. "I am breathing them in," as my bloggie friend Amanda said so well in her tribute to Maddie. Life is a vapor, I don't want to miss a moment.

All of my kids were blessed with Caleb's long eyelashes! Look at my little Audrey.

I went through an ABUNDANCE of fabu hand-me-downs that Oma brought for Avery from her friend Robin (thanks, Robin!), during naptime. I was overwhelmed. How very kind of the Lord to care and provide for us.
Matthew 6:28-30 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.
If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

We'll do a little better at matching our clothes next time, but the glasses are stunning.

I am trying to keep up with rotating the girls' clothes from dresser/basket/closets to storage tubs. It is a task, to say the least. Right now I have Reece's newborn and 0-3 in one dresser, Audrey's 12-18 month clothes in cute little baskets on the closet shelves and Avery's size 5 clothes in the other dresser and hanging in the closet. I just packed up the 6-9 month clothes that I was squeezing Audrey into until yesterday, and got the 12-18 month clothes out of the attic. Huge endeavor that took up three nap time sessions!

The Lord is orchestrating the details of our lives. It is really symphonic.

I made homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner. Homemade, friends. And it was really good. Avery and McClaine would hardly eat it, but they had three grown-up size helpings of spinach salad with cilantro ranch dressing. Yum.

This is the man I love! Big Time. He is wonderful- and way more musically inclined than me.

God has composed a masterpiece with our little broken lives, His grace is the metronome- ever present, consistent. His plans are perfect, He is mindful of every detail. Every note.

I love that the kids wouldn't eat mac and cheese but loved spinach salad! Sounds like things are falling into place with 4. Take care!
