A Wedding, A Drive, and A Tad of Dramamine

My cousin, Brittny, got married last week. Since I only have three first cousins, I am very close to all of them... we are like siblings- see? So our little family of six piled in the mini-van and headed to my hometown of Vail. It is an 18 hour drive, for a couple of college kids. It is a twenty plus hour drive for four children under five, but we broke it up into two days. My kids are awesome travellers- except they don't sleep in the car, not even with a tad of Dramamine! They found it suitable to sleep the last half hour of our 21 hour drive. You can see the Vail sign in the back windshield.Avery was the flower girl, and was well practiced after her Aunt Margaret's wedding a couple weeks ago. McClaine was the ring bearer, and since no one should trust a three year old with platinum and diamonds, he did an excellent job escorting his sister down the aisle with both hands in his pockets. They were soooo cute. They walked in perfect rhythm and took it all in. Little hams.I love being home in the summer. It is so gorgeous and the weather is a delightful escape from the 100 degree Texas weather. Here is our bold attempt at a Christmas Card picture in front of the Gore Range. Yeah right. There is just no way to get my husband four little ones to look at the camera. And don't I look all tall and matriarchal?
It was a wonderful week with some of my very favorite friends and family. Here's my cousin, LeeAnn and my SIL, Beth.
Here's another bold attempt at the Christmas Card photo. My mom and dad are center, my brother and his sweet fam to the left and our little family on the right.
So thankful to the Lord for His generous provision of a great family and wondrous creation!
When we got back to East Texas last night, we were greeted by a delicious Taco Dinner courtesy of Opa, 13 jars of homemade peach preserves and a thunder storm that knocked the power out just long enough to bathe our filthy children by candlelight. After we put the kids to bed we sat on the porch and reminisced on all the fun we had last week as the rain and thunder cooled off the East Texas heat.

Wow- y'all are quite the travelers! Colorado looks like a nice place to be this time of year. Avery's flower girl dress is so pretty... I bet she loves it! Evelyn gets to be the flower girl for Faith's wedding in a few months, and she's soooo excited about it! You have a beautiful family, Tyne!

That's one good looking family!

(And my kids don't sleep in the car, either!)

Vail is gorgeous. My parents love Colorado so we spent a lot of time there when I was a kid. They are there this week actually!

You have such a beautiful family and what a wonderful reason to get together! : )

I am so glad you have returned to Texas! I have missed your posts :)

You DO look tall and matriarchal! What an excellent word to use for that picture :) Avery is practically a professional now, having been a fabulously successful flower girl twice in a row!

I loved the picture of you and your cousin-I can't wait for Lizzie to get married so I can have a good excuse to dredge up a few of the many hundreds of photos we have together.

Can't wait to see you and your beautiful family in two weeks!
