It's a... JAR!

We went for our 19 week sono last week. What an adventure. Praise the Lord that Avery was at school and Caleb was able to take an early lunch to help me manage 2 toddlers in the waiting room of my ob's office for 1 1/2 hours before I got in the sono room and waited an additional 20 minutes. Times like these I am reminded why I rarely leave the house, pregnant with two toddlers and an occasional (when she is not at school) pre-k kiddo in tow.

Actually, the real reason can be found here. It was horrible, and it happened before many of you followed my blog. It was life changing.

I digress... What a truly magnificent thing it is to have a sonogram. It is really miraculous to see the little person that is being knit together in your womb without so much as a thought from you. How very kind of the Lord to just work His wonders of creating the chambers of a heart, the intricacies of the lungs, the fingerprints that are completely unique to every individual. All the while I am thinking of how to remove dried cheerios from McClaine's bedroom ceiling, or how to rig some sort of straps in my abused highchair to keep my escape artist, Audrey, in while I am whipping up a complex meal like spaghetti.

The sono technician was so amazed that we were having another one in addition to the two young ones that were acting like monkeys while she sloshed the cold, slimy gel across my abdomen. I just let her believe that three would be a handful, when really, Caleb and I feel so extremely blessed that four in four years is a wonderful stewardship and blessing from the Lord.

We told her that we didn't want to know the gender of our new one, but truthfully, since I just can't make up my mind, I asked her to write the gender on the back of a inconspicuous picture and put it in an envelope.

BEHOLD! Quatro...
So, what's your guess? If you want to come over, you can take a peek in the jar and find out for yourself.

Yay for not finding out! We didn't open our envelope that showed out little girls's girl parts!

Keep it a secret.

But, I'll say girl, just because.

Seriously, it's 19 weeks?! Wow!

I always found out but we always did the envelope thing too--just ripped open the envelope right away ;)

I am never good at guessing so I'll wait to see what the jar says.....

Since it's a surprise pregnancy - I'm voting boy.

Hmmmmmm... you have so much more self control than I would. I would look right now!!! That is why we are not having the tech right it down... I would look as soon as I got in the car :)
As for baby #4... I will say BOY! I totally think we are having our third boy... there is no doubt in my mind!

My guess is a girl...it seems like everyone is having a little girl lately.

I think waiting to see is such a fun idea...maybe we will try that for our next one. I doubt that I would be able to hold out very long before NEEDING to know!

I never guess the right answer to anything, but that's my guess, so you can start buying pink.

How boring and devastating all at the same time, for me , of course. Open the JAR. Is it going to be Vicky or Victor. LOL. But no really OPEN THE JAR. sorry I'm not being supportive. Dude, I'll be expecting a post very soon -on the gender of your little one. Yay, whatever. J/K. But did I mention- OPEN THE JAR.

We did the envelope thing with our first so that we could find out what we were having at home together, without a technician telling us in a cold, dark room.
But, I don't think I have it in me to wait until the end. I am just too much a planner. But, I will at least consider it next time.
My guess is another girl.

This is such a fabulous idea! I'm leaning towards not finding out with the next one, but this would be so fun to do! I might have to steal this idea from you.

I love your blog. I loved being pregnant with my girls. We did find out I could not stand not knowing so kudos to you for keeping it a surprise. Children are a wonderful blessing and congrats! Your amazing I can hardly handle my two and they are 4 1/2 years apart. Sarah is 6 and Hannah is two. Kudos again. We do want more children just trying to pay off a little debt first.
