From the Passenger Seat- The Trek Home

A ten hour drive with three kids under four, and a chocolate lab pup is much more relaxing from the passenger seat. With a wonderful husband as a chauffeur and companion for grown up conversation.

We're home. I can't wait to tell you about my trip and how extraordinary it was, with some great pictures as well.

I just can't pass up posting these cute things that the kids did while we were driving.

Audrey~ loves dancing. She has great rhythm... crank up The Killers' All These Things That I Have Done, and the girl will jam.

McClaine~ set up a virtual Jurassic Park with his dinosaurs, and then took them all to the dump with his new trash truck. It should also be noted that he was WONDERFUL in the car, no whining, no tantrums... he loves a good road trip, and he gave Latte a nice apple juice shower with his sippy cup.

Avery~ was all about geography...
  • 30 minutes into the trip says, "Are we still in Oma's Village?"
  • "LOOK, look, mom! LOOK! Look at the city... Are we all the way in New Ork City?" "No, honey, that's Houston." "Wow. Houston!"
  • She woke from a nap and asked Caleb, "Dad, where are we?" "We're in Victoria." "Dad, can you say that again? I didn't hear you." "We're in Victoria." "Oh." And she fell sound asleep.
  • As we approached home, "Mommy, is this our land?"

Gaby has insisted we pray for Avery every night "because she's sick" I tried explaining that she was visiting her out of town family but she would not have it . "Miss. Quintero said Avery sick" She even drew a picture for her.

Glad you had a safe trip home. I don't think I knew you were in Texas... So am I! : )

Funny you should mention it. Try driving it when you are tired and not wearing makeup or your hair is a mess. All the attention drives me crazy. And did I mention it stick shift. No drinking lattes or texting. Have you ever tried pumping gas in it? The ugliest men (anyone who isn't Javi) try helping you. And red lights and stop signs suck. I really don't like the car. Yes you can have it (as long as you take the car payment with it).
Sorry I deleted your comment dont care for people to know we have that car.

YAY - you survived - and so did the kids! A few weeks ago we drove 4 hours to Fort Worth with just me and the kids. Jude screamed the entire way and I pulled over at every gas station to put his pacifier back in. Needless to say the trip ended up taking us 7 hours. It was awful. Thankfully we picked up daddy at the airport in dallas and he drove us home... it's good to have daddy!

Hey Tyner, looking forward to your stories and pictures, still incredibly sad that we did not make it :(

And, wondering where you learned to make your super fun banner? I am having trouble finding a good tutorial for that one... maybe it is just my technical ineptitude...

How cute! Each special moments in their own special ways.

I didn't know you were in Texas, either...pretty much a native Texan here.

I'm glad the trip went well, and even better that you had such a good companion for the ride home.
