Okay, Okay, Dat's It!

The older they get, the clearer the mirror. A pure reflection of who I am as a mother, a wife, a friend, a teacher, a disciplinarian.

McClaine walked into the playroom after his nap the other day with a fist full of Cinnamon Grahams. When he opened his mouth, my words came out (well, with a slight lisp).

Me: McClaine, will you share a graham cracker with me?
McClaine: Okay, Okay, but dat's it!
and there are other phrases...

Me: McClaine, come here so we can wash your hands.
McClaine: Dus a minute. (Where in the world did he get that from?)
Me: No, now.
McClaine: Dus a minute.
Me: Son, time to wash your hands, now!
McClaine: Okay, Okay, Okay.

Avery also a reflection of her mama, she looks adoringly at Caleb across the dinner table, " So, dad, how was your day today?"
Or as she nurtures her little sister, by lovingly reading her a book, "Find the purple car. No, that's the blue car. Can you say, 'blue?' Good, Audrey. You did it, you said, 'blue.'"

Lord, give me words of choice silver...

Since I seem to be a slacker about blogging lately, here are a few recent pictures- totally unrelated to this post!
Caleb went out of town last weekend, as most of you know from my last post. I managed get Audrey and McClaine fed, bathed and in bed by 7:15 when the sitter arrived. I took Avery over to my cousin's house for a sleepover and Reece and I headed out for a night on the town. She slept the ENTIRE time in her car seat. Happy Birthday, Tracy!

McClaine is sweet as can be with little Reece, he loves to hold her and is absolutely still. He held her through two episodes of Backyardigans the other day. It is the best of both worlds, because she loves to be held and he loves to hold her.Audrey is full-time into eating with utensils. She uses a spoon to eat cereal, oatmeal and a fork to eat everything else. Unlike my other children, who held the utensil in one hand and ate with the other, or picked up food with their hand and put it on the fork, Audrey actually uses a fork properly.McClaine is still all about swords and bow and arrows. He prefers to use something from the yard to make a bow and arrow... here is his latest.Audrey having a little lunch at the park in the wagon. Were you missing Avery? Me too! She had a busy weekend, playdate after school on Friday, then a sleepover at my cousin's house, then she went to the Beach with them for the night and she didn't get home from the beach until late Sunday night. At least the other kids can't say that I only have pictures of my firstborn!

I am on my way to cash in on a spa gift certificate that I got for my birthday (thanks Hollie and Melissa)! I love when Oma and Opa are here, gives a mama some much needed R&R!

Ah so cute. Yeah the things that come out of our mouths certainly have an impact on our little ones.

I know what you mean about picking up what we say... I have to choose my words wisely as well. For instance, the other day, I heard Saige telling her sister, "no, no, we don't do that, Meadow." I am thankful when she says things like that and not so thrilled about, "come on buddy get out of da way!" She of course picked that up from me while driving!
