These little guys have been cooped up in this little canary cage.
Now their “proper” coop is complete.
For the life of me, I can’t believe that I share a plot of land with a bunch of chickens.
I have been terrified of birds since I was a little girl, and now, we have them as pets.
I am trying to be a big girl about it, for the sake of my children and all the lovely yard eggs that will make wonderful omelettes in due time.
But I swear, if they so much as look at me with those beady little eyes, I will wring their necks and cook them up in a tortilla soup.
Rogie will protect me. He is just dying for some winner winner chicken dinner.
The garden received a nice shower for most of the day today- the perfect shower for newly planted crops. We had some of our great friends over yesterday for hamburgers.
As much as I love them, I was only able to capture a couple of pictures of them.
Something about great fellowship- makes you want to put down your camera and etch the memories deep in your heart!
Love you, Tiff, Shaun, CarolAnn and all those cute little kids of yours!

I'm sorry, I got stuck on the yellow dog. I think he wants a sister. Her name is Sunday. She's a lab, too. She'll make you swear.
There will be no return address.
We really want chickens, hopefully we will live on enough land someday to have them. I think our dogs would scare them so badly that they would not even be able to lay eggs if we tried to put them in our current back yard :) Hope you enjoy those yard eggs!
Aw, so nice y'all were able to have a little reunion! Love those pictures! And Tiffany :)
I know how you feel about birds-I'm NO fan. In fact, I may have been the driving force behind forcing Dave to give his beloved cockatiel away.
Btw, Avery's hair is getting so long! She looks so grown up!
xoxoxo
Sweet! I so want chickens one day! I do find it pretty surprising that you're going for it, though - I remember your rather serious fear of birds... but maybe they heard you about the tortilla soup.
Livin' the good life! :)
I forgot about the bird fear!
I'm thinking A Musing Mom is wrong. I think that lovely yellow dog is looking for a nummy, nummy chick.
Tyne, you have such a beautiful family! I really love reading your blog. I would love to have chickens, but right now we're just trying to keep our yard and tomato plants alive.
Your life is exquisite. Blessings!
I would LOVE to have chickens. And I think you're take on it is hilarious!
Kelly
p.s. Very pretty pictures of your plants!
