There's a First Time for Everything

Dear Avery,
There's a first time for everything... and this post has a couple of them, including my first time to blog... and it was pretty bad.

First time you and McClaine watched the Broncos togetherFirst time to master stairs in your new houseFirst time to use a big girl cup (by the way... I am pretty sure this used to be your daddy's cup)How excited are you about this "Shirley" cake that Oma made you? When your daddy was a little boy, Oma had a book with different cakes in it. For their birthdays, daddy and his sisters got to pick out a cake from the book. You chose a dog cake and named it after Oma and Opa's dog, Shirley.First year to have 2 birthday parties. One in East Texas, and one in VailFirst bicycleFirst bath with McClaineFirst time to play with shaving cream in the tubFirst haircut
No "first" on this one, just a cute picture of you twoFirst stitches. Sigh. It was sad, but you were so brave. We were at a party at church and you were running around. You tripped and knocked your noggin on a chair leg. First trip to the ER. Can't say this was the first time you acted like a little monkey, but you were official for Halloween.Just another cute photo of you and Aunt "Momarg"First time to be particularly suspicious of Santa ClausChristmas in Vail 2006

These pictures were taken right before we moved back to Texas

First time to paint at your new house in Texas.
First Parade that you were in, little cowgirls for The Rios of Mercedes float
First trip to the Azalea Trail in Tyler

First cousin, baby Wyatt was born

Aves, I am sure we will share many more firsts...some I dread, some I so look forward to. Oh... here was my first blog post... it is pretty bad, but I think we are caught up now. Tomorrow's your birthday, my sweet peanut. I love you so much and am so thankful that you were my first child. You are such a blessing from the Lord.
Love,
Mommy

Such a sweet post, I remember thinking that the first child would end up hating being the first, but in my experience, it's wonderful. Simply wonderful!

Happy Birthday~
